Too Pretty to be Gay

Gabby Gatbonton is an award-winning, Winnipeg-based queer artist working across painting, textiles, and soft sculpture. Her practice explores intimacy, identity, and the body through a refined balance of painterly precision and tactile fibre processes.

Gatbonton has participated in North American exhibition exchanges, completed an international residency in Iceland, and her work has been featured in national publications. Beginning as a painter, her practice has expanded to include textile-based works, which have been acquired for permanent gallery collections.
